Bailey Menzel is a chronicler of the in-between. Their work — short stories, novels, and screenplays — sits at the seam where Victorian grandeur frays into digital decay; where mahogany meets magenta; where a candle and a cathode flicker at the same frequency.

Bailey writes about ghosts in copper wire, about poets who debug, about saints rendered in chromatic aberration. Their fiction has been described as "velvet-wrapped futurism" and "the gothic, but loaded with shareware."

Based in the quiet corners of the Pacific Northwest, Bailey spends most of their time researching nineteenth-century etiquette manuals and learning low-level programming languages — pursuits that, against all expectation, turn out to rhyme.
